Welcome to Fastershire!
Fastershire is a partnership between Herefordshire Council, Gloucestershire County Council and BT to bring faster broadband to Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.

The project launched at Vantage Point Business Village in Gloucestershire on the 19 March 2013, and at The Three Counties Hotel in Hereford on 20 March 2013.

Speaking at the events  Councillor Graham Powell, Cabinet Member for Education and Infrastructure, Herefordshire Council, said: “This is the first step on our journey to build a network for the future by investing in technology that will future proof our county."

"The internet is such a huge part of everyday lives and this new network will transform the county into a digitally enabled place to live and work."

Bill Murphy, BT’s managing director for Next Generation Access, said: “We have been working hard to get us to where we are today. This is an exciting time for Gloucestershire and the beginning of a journey that will see the communications landscape completely transformed.

“This ambitious project will boost the productivity of local businesses and help to attract a more diverse range of high-growth companies to the area. It will play a major role in creating greater prosperity for the county.”

Videos from both launch events are now available on our YouTube channel.

This is the first project e-newsletter that will keep you up to date on the progress of the build of a world class broadband network for both counties.
